Watch a sneak peek of CALIFORNICATION “The Apartment” Season 3 Episode 8 airing Sunday November 15 at 10pm on Showtime.
Episode Synopsis: CALIFORNICATION “The Apartment” Season 3 Episode 8 – Hank’s in for a hedonistic night to remember when Jackie (EVA AMURRI) and two stripper friends arrive at his doorstep, unannounced. The next morning, before Hank can escort his new friends from the apartment, Charlie shows up with a verbally abusive Rick Springfield (RICK SPRINGFIELD). Hank’s forced to hide the hung-over party girls all over the house after Jill (DIANE FARR) and Felicia (EMBETH DAVIDTZ) pay surprise visits. The charade reaches its boiling point when Dean Koons (PETER GALLAGHER) arrives on the scene, resulting in a messy catharsis by fire.
Hank has decided to tie up all his loose ends at the University (read: Jackie, Jill, and Felicia) so that he can concentrate his energy on Karen.
First up is Jackie. Hank asks her to come to his office hours and tries to break the news to her. She doesn’t take it well – she’s 23, a student, and a “sex worker” – obviously, it’s not a good combination for a breakup with your teacher. She’s hurt and bitter, but still offers a goodbye blow job, which is promptly interrupted by Dean Koons who is horrified! She jokes that Hank had offered her an A, but quickly recants, compliments Dean Koons and leaves the premises. On her way out, she implies that things are definitely not over between her and Hank. Strike one.

Next at bat is Jill. Hanks takes her to a swanky restaurant to break up with her, even though they’re not officially dating. When Hank only gets to start his break up speech with “Here’s the thing…”, Jill spots her ex boyfriend across the restaurant. This guy is the “egg waster,” the guy with whom she wasted all her reproductively formidable years, when he had no interested in marriage and the baby carriage and all that jazz. But, to her horror, Jill sees that he’s currently with a girl with a giant diamond engagement ring. Hank comes to the rescue in this mortifying situation: he walks up to the ex’s table, and pretends to be one of his ex-lovers, informing him about testing positive for STDs. The presumed fiance stormed off as Jill watches in delight. Hank is a hero, and he’s definitely going to have a harder time trying to breakup with Jill now. Strike two.
Finally, Hank pays Felicia a visit and informs her that he’s quitting (both the University and her). She is quite irritable about being rejected by him, but shoos him off as she has another gentleman caller arriving. Hank almost walked out of the house free and clear, with one successful break up under his belt, until he sees that Felicia’s “meeting” is with David Wilder, a poor-man’s version of Hank Moody, according to Hank. Hank can’t let her sleep with this guy. He actually makes it out the door, and into his car, before he comes back in to break up Wilder’s sexy “foreplay” talk, kissing Felicia and literally sweeping her off her feet to carry her to the bedroom. Strike three.
And to round out Hank’s failing personal life, he gets into another fight with Becca at home. She solicits him to go out for ice cream, but it was only a guise to get him out of the house, so he wouldn’t catch her half naked friends using her bedroom for sex. Hank can’t believe Becca would allow her friends to use her like that and Becca storms out, crying that she’s only following his example.
Runkle, on the other hand, is very successful at what he sets out to do. Sue is distressed because one of her top clients, Peter Fonda, is threatening to leave for another agency. They pay him a visit out on the beach and Fonda offers to stay with Sue if Charlie can fight him and win. While Charlie doesn’t win the fight per se, neither does Peter Fonda. It ends up being a bunch of old guys rolling around in the sand, complaining of pain, but Fonda agrees to stay with Sue. Later that evening, Sue and Charlie toast their success with some champagne, porn, and cocaine.
Eager to set things right with Karen again, Hank tries to distance himself from the ladies of the university. But after Dean Koons (PETER GALLAGHER) catches Hank in an intimate moment with Jackie (EVA AMURRI), Hank finds himself more entangled than ever. Meanwhile, his attempts to cool things off with Felicia (EMBETH DAVIDTZ) and Jill (DIANE FARR) begin to backfire. Adding insult to injury, Becca calls Hank out on the awful example he’s been setting for her.
Charlie fights to keep Sue Collini’s (KATHLEEN TURNER) favorite client (PETER FONDA) from leaving the agency. Later, Sue asks Charlie for a most curious favor.

Californication Preview: “Glass Houses”
By · CommentsRick Springfield is in there stealing your girl. Not Jesse’s girl. Your girl.
Indeed, Rick Springfield make a hilarious appearance on this week’s new episode of Californication, as he brags about once making a woman cum seven times. Seriously!
Check out the official promo below and be sure to return to TV Fanatic after the episode ends for a detailed review of “Glass Houses.”
In this episode, Becca is off to NYC to visit her mom, and Hank is visited by an old friend, Mike Zlosowski, “Zlos.”
Zlos is reeling from a fight with his wife, so he came to LA to blow off some steam with his old friend, Hank Moody. Hank shows him a good time, but Zlos is not used to the LA scene and is behaving very badly.

Charlie invites Hank and Zlos to a party at his boss Sue’s house. We meet her husband, Dickie (played by Stephen Root) – they clearly have a very open relationship – he is wheelchair bound, but that doesn’t seem to limit their sexual relationship at all. In one of their sex-toy rooms, Marcy invites Charlie to have some fun, but he reluctantly turns her down. She can’t understand why he would refuse sex with her, unless he’s cheating on her already… It turns out that his ex porn-star girlfriend, Daisy, came knocking earlier in the day to deliver the news that he should be tested for some nasty STDs. Charlie shares this information with Marcy and she is both irate and nauseated.
Meanwhile at the party, Zlos is laying it on thick to all the ladies with some horribly cheesy pick-up lines. He finally gets a bite from a woman in a hot tub – until he realizes that she is only a woman from the waste up. Upon this realization, he freaks out and hits her/him – which is not appropriate party behavior.
The guys move the party to the Faster Pussycat, where Hank’s new love interest/student works part time. Again, Zlos pushes the envelop by getting a little too personal with a stripper, getting into some serious trouble with the bouncer.
The rest of the night is pretty much a blur. In the aftermath, Hank and Zlos go have a catch on the beach and talk about their own friendship. It turns out that the two of them just drifted apart and didn’t keep in touch over the years, but this trip seems to rekindle their man-love. Zlos thinks he’s sick and might be dying and he wanted to make things right with his best friend.
Hank drops off Zlos at the airport, and sends him on his way to fix things with his wife. Expecting a warm greeting from Becca, Hank is dismayed when she does not even say hello and immediately jumps in the back of the Porsche, as if he is her chauffeur. But it’s for a good reason – Karen has surprised him with a visit!
Back in L.A. for a short visit, Karen hatches a plan to move the family back to New York for good. Hank’s mighty pleased, but Becca’s crestfallen about leaving her new best friend, Chelsea (ELLEN DAVIS WOGLOM). After inviting herself to Hank’s class, Karen meets the comely ladies of the university: T.A. Jill Robinson (DIANE FARR) and sexpot student Jackie (EVA AMURRI). Later on, tempers flare when Becca and Chelsea get into some serious trouble and Hank and Karen are forced to pay a tense visit to Chelsea’s parents, Felicia and Stacy Koons (EMBETH DAVIDTZ, PETER GALLAGHER).
Charlie is crushed when Marcy loudly consummates her girlhood-crush on Rick Springfield (RICK SPRINGFIELD). But Sue Collini (KATHLEEN TURNER) thinks up a creative way to restore Charlie’s confidence.
